God’s kingdom realm exists for such as these...

“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” [Matt 19:14]

What is it about children that they get some kind of default or automatic approval or a pass ticket to the Kingdom of Heaven?

I can understand that kids are likeable, attractive, beautiful, thinker, creative and troublesome sometimes, yea sometimes! But we see Jesus utter a huge statement and how he likened the Kingdom of Heaven to the little kids. That's Incredible!

Listen to the truth I speak: Whoever does not open their arms to receive God’s kingdom like a teachable child will never enter it. Then He embraced each child, and laying his hands on them, he lovingly blessed each one. [Matt 19:15]

Obviously when Jesus looked at the kids, what He sees is different from what we all see. Jesus saw beyond the rich love we have for our kids, He could see that they portray the kingdom mentality and we have to learn some valuable virtues from children.

1. Forgiving Heart:

Have you noticed kids when they quarrel with their mates? Most times they reconvene, they forgive easily and next thing, you see them playing together again sharing their toys.

You and I need to forgive those who offends us. we need to learn to let go, forgive those who trespass against us as God forgives us our own trespasses. No one is perfect, we can all make mistakes but lets not dwell on it to avoid condemnation. I know I make it sound easy but I would suggest you ask the Holy Spirit to help you forgive that person who did you wrong.

2. Faith:

A father throws his baby up in the air and you see him/her laughing. Why? because he/she knows his/her father will catch him/her. it is certain! That's some real faith expressed from kids. I wish we could trust God in the same way knowing He always have our back even we think everything is falling apart. The more you trust in God, the more your faith grows. How do you trust God? Start by getting to know him first through His Words compiled in the Bible.

My Father in heaven loves you and He will never let you down.

3. Praying/Communication:

When kids are hungry, they seek attention and make sure their parent/guardian attend to them.

Learn to pray to God and worry less. Worry is like a rocking chair: it gives you something to do but never gets you anywhere [Erma Bombeck].

4. Humility:

Behold, children are a heritage and gift from the Lord. The fruit of the womb a reward [Psalm 127:3:5].

Yet they are humble.

Be careful of pride because it goes before destruction Proverbs 16:18

5. Relationship:

Children remain in a relationship with their parent unless taken away by an external force.

God wants us to be in relationship with Him through Jesus Christ. One of the reason he had to come down from Heaven to fellowship with us, to understand what we go through as humans and He went through the same temptations, challenges and troubles we face today.

6. Steady Growth, Goals & Taking action:

As a child is growing they are learning how to do some tasks in chronological order. They learn how to prioritize their goals and actions.

Same thing God is looking for in adults/Christians. Some of us need to grow up. The world is not static that's why Romans 12:2 says Renew your mind. How? By the Word of God.

I conclude with this...Train up a child in the way he should go [teaching him to seek God’s wisdom and will for his abilities and talents], even when he is old he will not depart from it.

[Proverbs 22:6].
